Our Board

Katy Branham - Chairperson

Mrs. Branham has been a part of the Women in Science Committee since 2004, and is otherwise employed as a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Riverton, WY. Since 2005, Mrs. Branham has been in charge of designing and maintaining the website (including the online registration process), helping to find break-out session speakers, and leading registration on the morning of the event. In 2007, Mrs. Branham became one of the primary contacts for Principals and Teachers wanting to bring students to the Women or Men in Science Conferences.

Vice-Chairperson

The Vice-Chairperson for Women-Men in Science is currently vacant.

Peggy Peterson - Secretary

Mrs. Peterson was one of the inital founders of the concept of the Women in Science Conferences, and was critical in the development of the committee. Mrs. Peterson works as an Electronic Technician at the National Weather Service, and also has another full time job on her farm where she is especially talented in the Equine Arts. Mrs. Peterson has been instrumental in fund-raising for the conferences, and is the primary applicant for any relevant grants. Additionally, Mrs. Peterson is the organizer for the break-out sessions speakers, designer and organizer for the conference booklets, and organizes the volunteers for the conferences.

Marcia Himes - Treasurer

Mrs. Himes has been a part of the committee since its birth in 2003. Mrs. Himes works at Central Wyoming College as one of their Gear-UP representatives, and is also the current president for the National Women's Council. Mrs. Himes maintains all financial records and decides on budgets for current conferences. In addition, Mrs. Himes is responsible for finding speakers for the event, organizing handouts (bags and t-shirts), organizing lunches and other special needs for all speakers and students.
